Introduction to the Heat Treatment Process for Wood
First, we start with top - notch pine logs, like our Scotch Pine. We make sure they're the right quality and free from any major defects. Then, we send these logs over to our special heat - treating kiln.

Once the pine is inside the kiln, we start cranking up the temperature. But it's not just about blasting it with heat right away. We have a carefully planned temperature curve. We gradually raise the temperature to a high level, usually somewhere between 180°C to 210°C (that's pretty hot!). This slow increase helps the wood adapt and makes sure it doesn't crack or get damaged.
While the temperature is rising, the moisture inside the wood starts to evaporate. And here's the key part: as the heat continues to work its magic, the cell structure of the wood changes. The lignin, which is like the glue that holds the wood cells together, softens and starts to rearrange itself. This makes the wood more stable and resistant to things like decay and insects.
We keep the wood at this high temperature for a certain period of time, usually a few hours. The exact time depends on things like the thickness of the wood and the type of pine we're working with. After that, we slowly bring the temperature back down. Again, we do this gradually to avoid any sudden changes that could stress the wood.
Once the wood has cooled down, it's a whole new beast! It's got that amazing decay resistance, better dimensional stability, and a really nice, uniform color that comes from the heat treatment process. And the best part? We don't use any chemicals during this whole process. It's all about using heat to make our pine wood the best it can be for your projects.
So, that's the scoop on how we turn regular pine into our awesome heat - treated pine! Of course, in addition to heat-treated pine, we also offer heat-treated poplar products. Below are the results of our heat-treated poplar (commonly used for high-end outdoor and indoor furniture)(China Heat-Treated Poplar Wood Product Wholesaler):
